What is PLA material?

From a chemical point of view it is a thermoplastic polymer, to be precise a polyester, derived from the condensation of lactic acid .

You know when, after a long out-of-training run, your legs hurt for two days?

Now that's lactic acid, a chemical that we humans also produce.

But don't worry! The lactic acid that goes into our products is not extracted from the legs of tired athletes but from corn, sugar beets and other plants.

But is PLA toxic? No, it is not a toxic material if ingested. Since it is biodegradable and compostable, it is also not toxic to the environment.

But anyway, don't eat it!
